Variegated feather reed grass.

Forms a clump up to 90cm. high with the flowers just above . The leaves are longitudinally striped with cream , which can fade in hot summers or when flowering . It makes a robust vertical accent through the winter , and can then be sheared or just left as it is .It is good as a specimen , in groups of 3 or 5 , or in drifts and swathes.(1.5litre pot)

Korean feather grass. Foxtail or Diamond Grass.

syn. Stipa brachytricha , Achnatherum brachytrichum.This species is native to E.Siberia and E.Asia usually at the edge of moist woodland . It forms a dense clump with purplish flower plumes from August to October 60-80cm. high, which will persist into winter.(1.5litrepots)

Bowles Golden Sedge

Bright deep yellow leaves with a narrow barely perceptible green edge , the whole plant greener in shade . Nice knobbley seedheads in spring . It is also a very accomadating plant , as although it ideally grows in moist soil or water it will also grow in the ordinary border and in dense shade .

Red tussock grass.

A dense arching clump to 75cm. high .The new leaves are greenish , yet age to a copper-brown. It is also a very easy grass to maintain , it never needs trimming or tidying , the old leaves waft away , and is wonderful in a pot , rarely needing re-potting . It is from poorly drained areas in New Zealand and it does prefer not to be too dry. (1.5 litre pot)

Delightful soft fine green leaves.

A neat growing fescue , which does not seem to need as much attention as other festucas. It looks particularly good in groups of 3 or 5 and sparkles in misty light rain.

A fescue grass , this selection is probably the best of the blue festucas.

Dense tufts 20/25 cms high , Like many fescues it appreciates a 'haircut' in early spring and lifting and dividing every 2/3 years.

Blue oat grass.

Ideally this grass prefers a sunny well-drained spot , but it will tolerate heavyish earth . It is 'evergreen' with slender blue-grey leaves up to 60cm. long and 20cm. flower plumes held 50cm above the foliage in spring .it originates from the S.W. Alpsand the W. Mediterranean. A reliable performer needing little attention , although it does flower more if the earth is fertile.Quite nice in a pot . (1.5litre pot)

Yellow Great Woodrush

syn.'High Tatra' , 'Aurea' , 'Tatra Gold' . The new leaves are lime-green and age to yellow-green , although in bright sunny positions and in winter it can be bright yellow.It is from the Tatra Mountains between Poland and Slovakia.

Another Great Woodrush

syn. 'A Rutherford' This plant has similar properties to L.s.'Marginata' but is not variegated, but does have startling cream, almost translucent central leaves in spring .(9cm.pots)

Silver spear grass needle grass.

syn. Achnatherum calamagrostis, Calamagrostis argentea .Forms a clump of refined medium green foliage 30cm. high with graceful , arching , free flowering airy plumes from June until October. It does need full sun and adequate drainage.
